CAMEROON-EGYPT COOPERATION
Massoumbou- Diwom: a smart city in the pipeline in Cameroon
On 18 February 2025, the Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure (MINDCAF), His Excellency Henri EYEBE AYISSI, granted an audience to the Director General of the Rural and Urban Lands Development Authority (MAETUR), who was accompanied by the managers of Hassan Allam Holding.
This audience, held in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Cameroon, Mrs FAYEZ FARAG GHUBRIAL, and officials of MINDCAF's central administration, was aimed at discussing the partnership framework envisaged between this company and the Government of Cameroon.
Hassan Allam Holding is an internationally renowned group of Egyptian companies with 18 subsidiaries operating in more than 10 countries, notably in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Cameroon. Specialised in the fields of engineering, construction, finance, sanitation and energy, the company's ambition is to share its know-how through the transfer of technology as part of investment and development projects (energy, logistics, social welfare and infrastructure) in Cameroon.
This visit was born of the shared desire of MAETUR and MINDCAF to carry out major projects in Cameroon, including the new smart city of Massoumbou-Diwom, located in the Yabassi Sub-division, Littoral Region, over a 4,000-hectare site subdivided into several areas (agricultural, administrative, commercial, residential, etc.).
For MINDCAF, this ministerial and diplomatic audience falls in line with the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Egypt. MINDCAF, through MAETUR, is the State's secular arm in the process to access land. For MINDCAF, this cooperation, which promises to be fruitful, will undoubtedly bear fruit in our country.
