IWD 2025: MINDCAF LADIES AS OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS
Ready for the event...
The 40th International Women's Day was launched last Saturday, with a fitness walk through the streets of the capital city. The event, bursting with colour and excitement, was chaired by Marie Therese Abena Ondoa, Minister of Women's Empowerment and the Family. Many public and private institutions joined in the celebrations, not least among them were the women of the Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, who turned out in their numbers.
It was a busy day for these valiant ladies, as they took part in a football match between the Amazons of MINDCAF and MINESUP ladies at the MATECO Stadium of the University of Yaounde I. Our courageous warriors lost the match. Nevertheless, they won most of the medals awarded in relay races, throwing balls into baskets, tug-of-war, etc.
Ultimately, on the eve of 8 March, they needed a break from land files and it was also an opportunity to share their expertise with other women. The theme of this year's celebration alone is meaningful: “For all Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment”. As in the past, the Ladies of MINDCAF, through the Gender Focal Point, were able to come up with a theme that is more inclusive for women: “MINDCAF: for Equal Access to Land Rights for Women and Girls”
They are our mothers, our wives, our sisters, and they have made their mark professionally thanks to their outstanding skills.
