UNDERSTANDING LAND REGISTRATION PROCEDURES IN CAMEROON

The issue of land acquisition is no longer a secret for visitors to the SAGO 2025 radio studio. Mr Raoul Roger BELIBI, Director of State Lands, Senior Administrative Officer, delivered a presentation on 3 July 2025 on Land Registration Procedures in Cameroon.

He demystified the jargon of land management, clarifying concepts such as temporary or absolute grant, long-term lease, sale by mutual agreement, national and private land, State property, as well as expropriations.

 This presentation also addressed a crucial information need on the part of the public, that wanted to know more about the increasing talk about the cancellation, suspension, merger, rehabilitation, etc. of land certificates at MINDCAF. The Director actually reassured users that these measures are concomitant with technical or administrative resolutions in the process of obtaining a land certificate.
