“Obtaining a land certificate in 30 days”
Ms Rosette Onana Nkoulou épse Ebomo, Director of Land Tenure at the Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, was the first guest on the air for the 14th edition of the SAGO radio studio at the Yaounde Town Hall on 1 July 2025.
The main focus of her presentation was the procedures for direct registration in Cameroon. According to our expert: “a land certificate can be obtained in 30 days in Cameroon”. She explained all the regulatory steps involved in obtaining this precious document. She also explained the mechanisms put in place by MINDCAF to create a digital land platform in Cameroon to prevent any abuses in practice. The project is at a very advanced stage and the Ministry is now seeking partnerships for its implementation.
The Director also gave practical advice to users who had specific concerns, particularly about old land certificates. She advised them to get in touch with their local Divisional Service of Land Tenure so that their land certificate should be linked to the geodetic network to avoid situations where land certificates are cancelled or there are two certificates for the same piece of land.
