International Women's Day 2026: MINDCAF AMAZONS UNITED IN HARMONY

As part of activities marking the 41st International Women’s Day, the Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure (MINDCAF) organised a colourful gala football match between the Amazons of the central services and their counterparts from the regional services. The match took place on Saturday 28 February at the Presidential Guard Stadium in the Melen neighbourhood of Yaounde. The fixture marked the launch of a series of activities planned in support of women and girls.

Played in a friendly and convivial atmosphere, the match ended in a convincing 3–1 victory for the Amazons of the central services. Beyond a simple sporting contest, the encounter served as a moment of unity, solidarity and affirmation of female leadership within the ministry.  More than just a sporting contest, the event provided a moment of unity, solidarity and a strong affirmation of women’s leadership within the ministry. The players displayed remarkable commitment, team spirit and determination, cheered up by colleagues who turned out in their numbers to support the initiative.

This encounter officially launched the flagship activities of the 41st International Women’s Day 2026, celebrated this year under the global theme: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”.  Within MINDCAF, reflection on the issue was further deepened through a compelling sub-theme: “Equitable Access by Women to Land and Land Property: A Lever for Social Justice and Economic Empowerment”.

Through this sub-theme, MINDCAF, under the leadership of His Excellency Henri Eyebe Ayissi, highlights the critical importance of securing women’s land rights as a key driver in reducing inequalities, strengthening social justice and promoting economic empowerment. Equitable access to land is indeed a strategic tool for ensuring that women can participate fully and meaningfully in national development.

It should also be noted that these internal activities at MINDCAF follow the major sports walk organised on Saturday 28 February 2026 along the streets of Yaounde, under the coordination of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF). This collective mobilisation marked the official launch of commemorative activities, reflecting the renewed commitment of public authorities to promoting and safeguarding women’s rights.

Through these initiatives, MINDCAF reaffirms its determination to make land justice a cornerstone of equal opportunity, while highlighting the vital place and role of women within the public administration and in Cameroonian society as a whole.
