On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the Star Land Hotel hosted the closing workshop of the Project for the Promotion of a Responsible Land Policy (ProPFR), marking an important milestone in strengthening land governance in Cameroon.

This event brought together institutional stakeholders, project partners, as well as key actors in the sector. It was held under the chairmanship of H.E. Henri Eyebe Ayissi, Minister of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure, in the presence of the Head of German Cooperation in Cameroon, reflecting the strong and fruitful international and multilateral partnership aimed at improving and modernizing the country’s land management system.

In his address, the Minister highlighted the strategic importance of the ProPFR project in modernizing and improving land management systems in Cameroon. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring transparent, secure, and equitable access to land for all.

The program featured welcome remarks and an official opening session led by representatives of German Cooperation and the ProPFR-GIZ Project Manager, who commended the achievements made under the project.

The Project Manager, Dr. Tobias Feldt, presented a detailed overview of the project’s accomplishments, highlighting the key results achieved across its various components. The Output 1 Coordinator, Bakker Nongni, then provided further insights into the progress made and the tangible impacts observed over three years of close collaboration with the Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure.

This workshop also provided an opportunity to identify best practices, share experiences, and examine prospects for the transfer and sustainability of the project’s achievements. It reaffirmed the importance of promoting transparent, inclusive, and sustainable land governance as a key driver of Cameroon’s socio-economic development.
